“Vehicle Prowler” Shot by Homeowner
Just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning, Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call from a homeowner in a rural party of the county to report that her husband had fired a shot at someone he believed to be a car prowler.
Deputies responded to the call at the 2100 block of Holcomb Loop Rd, and discovered the man whom the homeowner had fired on with a shotgun.
Paramedics arrived and transported the suspect to St. John Medical Center, where he received treatment for birdshot wounds to his legs before being arrested and booked into Cowlitz County Jail on a warrant unrelated to his alleged attempt at vehicle burglary.
There have been no further arrests reported, and Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing.
